New In Beauty: Jolie Beauty Highlighters*

It's been a hot minute (or not so hot, in my case) since I've done a blog post about makeup. Or let's be real, a blog post about... anything. My life is chaotic AF right now and this lil blog has took not just a backseat, but has probs more accurately been banished to the boot; in my metaphorical life / car analogy.

I'm back today however, for a quick chat about these beaut Second Skin Powder Highlighters* from Jolie Beauty I was sent recently. Aren't they fab? Absolute packaging goals. 

I never used to be a big highlighter gal... as as someone who's skin and or giant face resembles a massive oilslick, I felt that adding more gleam to it was asking for trouble / guaranteed to make me look sweaty AF. 

But with practice and more technique I've mastered the places to put my highlighter for a fresh-faced glow, and not overkill with the shine. And now I wear it every time I put on makeup. Which hasn't been much in 2021 I won't lie - lockdown3 has hit me hard and I look like an actual crackhead most days. But when I do... *chef's kiss*

I've been using the shades Saintly* and Dreaming* from Jolie Beauty's new Second Skin Collection pressed powder highlighters and I'm definitely a fan. Not only are they housed in gorgeous, compact packaging (with a proper decent sized mirror), the powders themselves are beautifully soft - velvety & buttery smooth. 

The team at Jolie Beauty hand selected these shades for me to suit my cool skin tone (there's nothing worse than a really brash, warm highlighter on my 'the walking dead-esque' skin) and they've done a great job. The lighter of the two shades (Dreaming) is my current fave - it's a beautifully subtle shimmer when applied to the face; highlighting the areas you want to be focal points subtly yet noticeably. 

Saintly (which I just love the name of, as it reminds me of Kim Kardashian & the other kids calling her son Saint 'Sainty', and I dunno why that random clip of KUWTK holds such sentiment to me!) will be the perfect shimmer for my massive face and collar bones in the summer / when I've been arsed to fake tan; too.

Who are Jolie Beauty? Jolie Beauty are a UK based, cruelty-free (yaaaassssss) beauty brand (who try to be vegan where they can, too) comprised of a team of highly experienced makeup artists who definitely know their stuff! Their range is expansive and affordable; with beautifully packaged products that look fab and perform even better! It always amazes me how many brands and independent names there are out there in the beautysphere, and I'm super pumped to have discovered this one. I'll definitely try more from their collection and will be keeping an eye on them - Jolie Beauty are one to watch!
