I'm a big fan of adult colouring. I have a somewhat stressful lifestyle, which my brain often can't cope with - but sitting down with a pack of crayons and a colouring book works wonders for clearing my head. I'm all about discovering and sharing new ways to cope with stress & anxiety, and I can vouch that colouring is a very viable option, if you need a little help winding down after a stressy day at the office. You know the kind I mean. Hell on a spinny chair.
Colouring has always been an escape for me - when I was an angst ridden teenager, I used to spend aaaaages tracing fashion stencils and colouring them in; designing new outfits, planning future outfits with the clothes I had [which were, when I think back, totally cringeworthy hahahaha - teenagers these days just don't know the pain of 00's fashion] and just generally having a ball. So although I've been enjoying colouring in intricate animals and woodland fantasy patterns, my heart has been yearning for some fashion designing. For ages.
And then, my prayers were answered - in the form of Natasha Itzcovitz’s amazing fashion colouring book - 'The Whimsical Fashion Colouring Book*'; created in the style of Iain R Webb's 'Vogue Colouring Book.' Just look how insanely cute it is!
Fashion designer, Natasha Itzcovitz, has recently released her debut colouring book; which contains 100 hand-drawn fashion illustrations, to spark the imagination of every budding fashionista. Having graduated with a degree in Fashion Design, Natasha has created a world of crazy and wacky outfits that follow fashion through the ages; from famous fashionistas including Marie Antoinette and Jane Austen, to more contemporary styles - such as boho chic and hipster street style.
Natasha's adult fashion colouring book showcases her unique designs and invites you to join in - no matter what your style.
I really, really love this colouring book. It's quirky, inspiring, beautifully drawn and really does bring the creative side of you right out. As I have such an interest in fashion and design, I've found that Natasha's book holds my attention for much longer than traditional, animal filled colouring books [though I love them too!] as it allows me to express myself more [and takes me back to my teenage days, scribbling away with the Crayolas!]
There's just something so therapeutic about colouring; I've found it really helps me work through the tangled mess of thoughts which is my mind after a stressful day - as well as taking my mind off the things that are bothering me. If you haven't tried it, I would totally recommend that you do!
The Whimsical Fashion Colouring Book costs just £8.99 (RRP) and will provide you with hours worth of relaxation & enjoyment. You can buy it via Wordery, Blackwell's, Hive etc - and I've actually just found it on special offer for just £6.29 at WH Smiths [click here to buy.]
Do you enjoy adult colouring? What methods do you use to relax and wind down after a busy day?
