I'm all for being positive and finding the good in every situation, but when it comes to 2017, it's pretty f*cking hard, man. Talk about clutching at straws. Even though I do try to be less of a miserable old hag when it comes to looking back at life events, I'm also very much aware that you can't polish a turd and that sometimes, you've gotta just accept that life has dealt you a whopping great plate of sh*te & it's tough titties all round.

2017, ladies & gentlemen.

For me, this year has been a sh*tting write off. And as much as I am loving reading everyone's threads about how much they've achieved this year & how far they've come, it doesn't change the fact that for me personally, 2017 has been the absolute pits. I know I'm still dead privileged compared to a lot of people & things could be a lot worse ... I should probably stop whining ... but I can't help the way I feel about this year, lads. Soz.

I love NYX Makeup. Always have, always will. If there's one brand I'm prepared to splash out on - or pick something up just to try out on a whim - it'll be from these guys. Being totally honest, as with most beauty advent calendars, you do have to expect the odd nail file, toe separator, bobble and mini brushes behind some of the doors. Which don't get me wrong, are all useful bits; but perhaps not as exciting as some of the other contents inside.

The positives definitely outweigh the negatives with this fab calendar tho gang - there's plenty of fab products I'll get tonnes of use out of hidden inside it; and opening each door, regardless of what was behind is, was a fun, enjoyable & super cute experience. All the products inside are themed - either in terms of colour, the look you can put together with them or other items which complement them.. and I honestly just can't fault Technic - their affordable and cruelty free alternatives continue to improve with age; like a fine wine / cheese. To use :
