The other week I had one of those 'screw everything' moments - screw being poor, screw whinging credit card statements and especially screw looking like an oily smackhead with my makeup melting off down my face after a day in the office. Enough was firmly enough; but yeno, nothing that a bit of retail therapy wouldn't fix.
I indulged in a few little treats from Gerard Cosmetics [courtesy of yet another maxed credit card] - one of these being their Slay All Day Setting Spray. I initially only bought a mini spray to see how I got on with it - but spoiler alert, it was sh*tting INCREDIBLE and I've since thought 'screw it all' again and invested in a full size bottle. #YOLO.
This is legit THE best setting spray I've ever used. Ever. Slay All Day works legit miracles when it comes to my oily complexion and lack of makeup skills. Normally, by the end of the day, my fod is a shiny, oily beacon of hell and the makeup on my chin has full on smudged off [though this may be down to me eating too much and dribbling coffee in and around my mouth at my desk. SEXY.] When I use Slay All Day though, it literally manages to keep my oily t-zone at bay for - as the name suggests - an entire 8-10 hour day in the office.
I previously used NYX's Matte Finish Setting Spray to try and keep my face looking relatively normal - which granted, is pretty good too and half the price. But it doesn't hold my sh*t in place for half as long as Gerard Cosmetic's offerings. Historically, it'd get to lunch time and I'd have to frantically blot my frigging giant shiny fod to buggery, in order to eradicate the dreaded gleaming sheen of oil. Now, Slay All Day takes me wayyyy past lunch - often until the end of the working day, before I have to consider touching up my makeup.
This, my latest #YOLO purchase is making my life right now, tbh. Whereas the first Setting Spray I bought [in my earlier Gerard Cosmetics haul post] smelled a bit... questionnable [Green Tea just really isn't my bag, though it has grown on me a fair bit] this one is Peach scented and it smells INSANELY good and omg. I'd wear it as a perfume, if I could. And of course, it's insanely Instagrammable too, innit?
I ordered my Slay All Day here, from Beauty Bay, where it cost me just £14.50. The range comes in another six fragrances too [the full line up of scents is made up of Peach, Green Tea, Cucumber, Grapefruit, Jasmine, Lavender and Lemongrass] so if, like my friend Charlene you're scared of peaches, there's plenty more options for ya and you can live your life phobia and oily-tzone free.
I can't recommend you try this spray enough - it's a total game changer, with a price tag that isn't ridiculously OTT and with a branding / packaging design game so strong you won't be able to cope.
Have you tried Slay All Day before? Which scent is your fave? What product[s] do you guys use to ensure your makeup stays in place all day long?
