Aite you bunch of worldies. I'm guessing you're here cos a] you're into beauty or b] my spammy promo tweets enticed you in. In which case... hihi, I'm a bit of a knobhead, but bear with me; k?
Either way, I'm here today [sipping a double vodka & lemo - cos Christ on a bike this week has been a drag] & typing away [regularly missing keys as I go, yolo] in an over-excited manner about some of the latest bits in beauty I've been trying out. Dead excited to share them with you tbh, there's some lesser known, but most exciting bits in the mix this month.
In no particular order rly, I'm gonna kick off this ode to makeup with this insanely beaut Highlighter I picked up for like 80p or something; from Makeup Obsession at Revolution Beauty; in their whopper of a sale recently. Not even messing, the reductions literally were that low. I wept almost as much as my credit card must have done when it realised how much of a bumming it was about to take.
True to the miserable old hag that I am, I wasn't expecting much from this pan... but I was unprecedentedly wrong & actually; I've used it daily ever since & can't imagine adult life without it now. Just look at how insane that pay-off is - it's the most shimmery, glowy & pigmented dream and I want it on and around my face pls.
Next up.... let's go for this Blink Brow Bar Iconic Lash Mascara* in black. This lil 10 is from their Eyeconic Collection. I really enjoy trying new mascaras - and this one arrived at the ideal time rly; as all my old faithfuls are starting to age & get crusty to a similar level that I am these days #FossilProbs.
I really like the wand on this mascara [cor blimey Pauline, check out the wand on that!] It's the perfect shape and size [unlike many of the wands that I've seen in me time...] grabbing my lashes, coating them in mascara-y goodness and catching any excess - meaning the days of living in Clump City [courtesy of Benefit's Bad Gal Bang] are OVER! It really lengthens my lashes; with a subtle curl. Try it.
From the same brand, I was also lucky enough to try this Conceal & Lift Matte* pencil in light [also from Blink Brow Bar London] this month. This nifty lil baby has angled concealer at one end & a little blending brush at the other; allowing you to carve out brows so precise it would even make ABH herself, the Master of Brows, whimper.
I decided to opt for 'Light' out of the shade range available; as I like a rly defined arch and to properly highlight me brow bone simultaneously. It's beautifully soft & blendable - and accurate AF when you're fighting the daily battle that is getting dem brows on fleek. A really great product, from a fab new brand I've enjoyed trying out.
NEXT up [hahaha am so punny] we have... well, a bit of Next makeup; taking the shape of their pretty Illuminating Base. Did I need this? No, of course not hun. But with its Tilbury-esque packaging and v. reasonable pricetag, I dove in there like swimwear & ordered some.
Next have started stocking sooooo many more brands [beauty, fashion & fragrance wise] since I used to work for them - I'm impressed at how much they've moved with the times, and how much their own brand clothing has improved in terms of being more on-point, too.
The packaging is an Instagrammable dream and as it's on a 3-for-2 mix and match offer right now, the value for money you'll get if you pick up a few bits is pretty darn sick. I haven't used this one that much yet, tbh - but when I have, it's provided a shimmery, glowy base with some sorta colour correcting, brightening sorcery in it too; thanks to its peachy hues.
Of course, being the raging tramp that I am, I didn't personally purchase this beautiful YSL lippy. My pile of credit cards got a well-earned day off, as my babe of a sister bought me this for my recent birthday. And omg isn't she just everything you could ever dream of in a lipstick. She's the most beautiful cool-toned pink you could imagine; in packaging so lux it's like she was crafted by the angels themselves. I'm too scared to even swatch her right now, as I never want to mess up that perfectly smooth edging... but I know I'll cave and do it soon.
Finally, here's the insanely erotic Revolution Makeup Hot Pursuit Glitter Eyeshadow Palette I decided to buy [on a total whim] because I'm ultimately basic AF and loooooove me some glitter. This palette [which you can shop / stalk here] made me emosh AF with all its warm toned glitter, and for £10 for 9 shades; this was maths I liked.
The glitters themselves feel pretty loose; they're definitely ones you need setting spray & primer for - and to apply with a damp brush to get best results... but they're gorge. I can't wait to bash some looks together for the Gram with these lil beauts!!!
Have you tried any of these products or brands before? What's been new in on your beauty radar this month?
