Getting ready for a dinner date or casual hangout with friends is pretty exciting. It’s surely a breath of fresh air doing your makeup after not often doing it since the pandemic. But, makeup can lead to horrible experiences, like ruining your favourite top. You have to be careful in applying makeup as some cosmetics are challenging to remove.
Some cosmetic stains are non-removable with normal stain-removing tricks. These makeups are already waterproof and oil-based, making them hard to break down and bring back your clothes into their former glory. Lipstick or Lip Gloss Stains
You might think removing lipstick or lip gloss stain is simple and easy, think again! It is one of the most difficult things, especially when it is on cashmere, silk, or wool. If that’s the type of fabric that had lipstick stain, you have to take it to the dry cleaning expert.
The key to pre-treating a lipstick stain is to act fast. You can remove the excess stain and dab a high-efficiency laundry detergent on the stain to remove it. Until you are not yet done, do not let the stain dry on the garment.
Foundation Stains
Liquid foundation stains are easy to remove than other cosmetic stains. If you have a laundry detergent powder, you can rely on it. You can gently remove the foundation stain with a soft-bristled brush and powder detergent. Let it sit for 15 minutes before blotting away the residue with a paper towel.
Wash the stained area with the hottest water setting and check if the stain is visible.
Mascara Stains
Mascara smudges on clothes are simple to remove if you can pre-treat them immediately with a detergent. Let the detergent remain on the stained area for 15 minutes. The same with the foundation liquid, you can remove it with a soft-bristled brush.
Place the garment into the washer and clean it with a gentle wash cycle. Before drying the clothes, ensure that there are no visible stains.
Blush or Bronzer Stains
Blush and bronzer are quite tricky to handle. They are as tiny as dust on your clothes. Use a lint roller to lift the blush or bronzer powder from your clothes. Apply a small amount of laundry detergent on a cotton ball and gently dab it on the stained area. After which, rinse the garment with cold water to remove any detergent residue. When you are done pre-treating the blush or bronzer stain, load the garment and wash it with the hottest water setting with detergent. Don't forget to double-check the care label.
