For me, 2017 was the very definition of cockwomble - you can find out why exactly in this post here; if you fancy a good old fashioned rofl at my expense.

There was one good thing to come out of this otherwise complete sh*t show of a year however - and that was how much my makeup skillz have advanced [probs due to how much time I've had to just sit at home / lie in hospital beds & practice] & how during these past 12 months especially; I've discovered some proper game changing makeup & beauty products which have totes contributed towards said advancements in masking the monstrosity that is my face. And I'm not gonna keep such crucial information like that to myself! Here's a quick round-up of some of my stand-out makeup picks of 2017.

I work full time, I blog and I'm not great at sleeping... so you can only imagine how knackered / partially dead I both feel and look. The bags under my eyes are so sh*tting HUGE that it looks like they're crammed full of my entire life's possessions; about to embark on a long haul flight to Australia and relocate there. Am I overdramatic? Yes, of course. But are my under-eyes shrivelled up and purple AF? Also yes

These Verso Skincare Reviving Eye Masks [which my baes at MMCL sent me, along with my Touch in Sol giveaway winnings] have totes got my back when it comes to taming these raging bags [lol]... since they arrived on my doorstep via Paul the Postmanthey've become a huuuuuuge part of my life [you may have seen me rocking some of these eye masks on my Insta story the other day] - so I thought I'd take to the ol' blog today, to tell yous more about them.

Thanks to my very hot friend LP, Touch in Sol are a brand that I've seen on / have dominated my Insta feed for pure time! I can always trust Leanne's recommendations for beauty products as she's pretty much a Goddess - and I'd try pretty much anything that might make my rancid mug look more like her face. Anyway. Before I go on some mad, slightly homoerotic rampage about how much I fancy her, let's crack on with HOW MUCH I NOW ALSO FANCY THIS BRAND!

I was lucky enough to win a competition hosted on the lovely BDQ Blog's Instagram and got me hands on a bottle of Touch in Sol's I'm Very Useful Makeup Boomer Primer - but my luck was in even more when MMCL [the amazing luxury beauty distribution company who were collaborating with Dorota on her giveaways]  threw in a couple of the brand's other bestsellers for me to try, too. Products which, not to be overly dramatic, are total gamechangers.

Sometimes, it's dead 'ard to find a Valentine's Day card that says what you're really thinking. Especially when you're at those awkward early days of dating - and all the cards in ya local Clintons are designs that pure profess their love... but like, you've not even dropped the 'L bomb' to each other yet and only made it offish last week ... so you don't wanna come off too keen with a card that says 'You're the love of my life' on it in rhinestones. Yeno?

This happened to me a few years ago actually, I ended up buying him a plain card with some horses galloping through the ocean on the front. But he went 'full romantic' and got me one with 'To the one I love' across the front and I died. Don't be like me. 99% sure he threw the horses away too.

My life follows this exact pattern:

Have a major operation > Buy a Juvia's Place palette as a treat to myself for not dying > Weep in joy at how beautiful it is > When the drugs wear off, weep in despair at how poor I am and ask the question 'What is my life?' on repeat 23 times a day.

Judging from this oh-so-predictive life cycle / behaviour of mine, I'm guessing you already know why I'm here writing this post today - so let's get down to it. The palette I chose this time, in my latest 'defiance-of-death, post-op' celebration [previously, I went for the Juvia's Place  Saharan Palette] was the Juvia's Place Masquerade Mini Palette and boyyyyy is she a pigmented beast. A pigmented sexy beast.

Much as I've been to some beautiful places in my life [Mykonos, Olu Deniz, Asda Smithdown Road and Poundland .... to name just a few] there's a few that stand out in my mind as the worst locations I've ever been to and should be avoided at all costs. Especially if you're thinking of taking someone you're dating there ... or maintaining your existing relationship after visiting said location. Let's name and very much shame.

My rented accommodation is furnished, meaning that I own neither it or the stuff inside it. Milennial probz - though tbf, I had no desire to be branded the owner of that rancid mattress I used to have & it's assortment of unknown stains. *Shudder* Anyway, I decided that over Christmas last year, I wanted to change that... and actually own some furniture; rather than simply being the owner of all the makeups & an extortionate amount of debt.

I've been gradually making changes in the home, starting with my bedroom first of all; investing in budget interior decorations and furniture to make this flat that isn't technically mine, more of a home. Here's a few bits I've picked up so far - I'll do more photos when it's actually complete, like. It still looks a bit like a crackden at the moment.

I've raved about this shiz before, but here's a quick reminder that there is no time of the year better than the present to pick up a bottle of this Skinny Tan gradual tanning lotion. Seriously

It's Winter, it's GRIM [you can recap on why I hate the colder months of the year here] and if you're anything like me, your skin will have been covered up for weeks in feeble attempts to keep warm - and as a result of said imprisonment, will be a bit lot on the pasty side of life. I look like the walking dead crossed with a cave troll. With a side order of middle earth dwelling tossed in the mix for grim measure.

Alphabet dating. You ever tried it? No, it's not dating / banging your way through from Adam - Zachary [or Amy to Zara] you filthy scoundrel [though yeno, that could potentially be fun]  ... or some pure wild sex game. It's something you can do at any stage of a relationship - perhaps when you're first dating, or even to spice things up a little if you're in a longer term situation. Again, this doesn't mean sex wise [unless you want it to, of course] no matter how risqué this prelude may sound.

No, alphabet dating is something as innocent and pure as picking a new date night idea every week / couple of weeks / a month; the first idea being an activity that begins with an 'A' and the last obv beginning with a 'Z.' Although, there are obviously several sexy activities that spring to mind straight away for 'A' thanks to the utter filth we chat in the girls' group chat... so if you wanna kick off your activities with Anal then go wild. Within bumhole reason.

After Christmas, I lost my sh*t a bit and ordered ALL OF THE THINGS in the sales [and also not in the sales.] Whilst I am regretting my impulsive & rather knobbish ways now, I did pick up some right nice stuff during this irresponsible time in my life... one item from these knob hauling sessions [if this reads like I've been hauling literal knobs and having several of them, pls be aware that I have been celibate for well over a year and chance of real life pennis would be a fine thing] that I'm especially happy with being this bottle of Hugo Boss - The Scent, For Her perfume. Which you need to sniff. Immediately.

Oh MY DAYS gang. I have found THE most pigmented, on-point and affordable eyeshadow palette - possibly of all time...

It legit only arrived with me yesterday, but after the responses I had to it on Instagram and Twitter which confirmed that it was not just me who was SHOOK by it [so many of you commented & said you'd now ordered it too after I featured it... soz in advance to all your banks] I wanted to get this post out there ASAP.

This is Makeup Revolution's Reloaded Newtrals 2 Palette, my new bae, the love of my life and only £4. FOUR ENGLISH POUNDS. Even I, as the world's biggest tramp / budget blogger can't argue with that. Lemme show you why it's such fantastic value for money, in a post which will probably contain lots of over-excited swearing / sexual adjectives and will defo be on the photo-heavy side. But you need to see this

I spend a LOT of time imagining / dreaming that I have money. Pinterest and Instagram [as well as my super-enabling blogger friends such as KT who made me a video of a Colourpop Palette talking to me asking me to buy it and Leanne who's Insta makes me need everything she ever mentions] have me visually spending all the monies I don't [and probs never will] have.

Here's just a few beautiful pieces I've clocked this week which, if I wasn't too poor to even shop the Asda Smart Price range, I'd love to just add to me basket and life. Join me for some weeping at HUGE price tags and window shopping, frens xo

Okay so, I'm not even being dramatic when I say that these liquid lipsticks are some of the best I've tried ever in my adult life. And I'm proper old, so that's a lot of time and a lot of lippies tested. I was impressed enough when I last tried Runway Rogue; which was pure time ago, but these new releases from the brand - with their tailored to perfection, non-drying formula - are just something else

From the moment I swatched these bad lads on the 'Gram, I received so much interest in them - and I mean, it's no wonder why. They're erotic AF. Shimmery, pearly, metallic, long lasting and with pigmentation that's legit out of this world. Their coverage & colour pay-off is UNREAL! These absolute worldies are Runway Rogue's brand new Pearl Glam Liquid Lipsticks; in the shades Soft Box* and Day Rate* - which are just two of the stunning options from this innovative collection.

New Year, new ... hair? There's never been a better time to get a bit creative with your locks and experiment with fresh styles for the new season - and I've found the most versatile styling tool [at such a reasonable price] which'll help you do just that. I'm talking about this babein' Xtava Satin Wave 5 in 1 Curling Wand* of course - which, as the name sorta suggests, is five styling tools in one; as well as having the added bonus of being sleek AF.

Hands up who's a top tit and even though it's only the first day of 2018 is already epically behind on their blogging schedule? That'd be MEEEEEEE

The epic sh*tstorm that was 2017 kinda scuppered my life, organisation and game plan in every damn department [you can read and lol more at the utter catastrophe which was my life last year here] ... so I'm still playing catch-up with the blog posts I'm behind on; and generally just continuing living as the worst human / blogger in the land RN. New Year, New... new SAME Levels Of Knobhead over here.

A fair few of these overdue posts are reviews of the ever-so-erotic monthly Little Known Box edits. Which I feel totes bad about, because LKB is one of my favourite subscription services of all time ever and I unbox these bad boys every month pure desp to share them with yous [in a review sense, mind... hands off ma makeups xoxo] and then boom, all of a sudden I end up in hospital for weeks at a time & smacked off me tits on medicine.
