New Year, new ... hair? There's never been a better time to get a bit creative with your locks and experiment with fresh styles for the new season - and I've found the most versatile styling tool [at such a reasonable price] which'll help you do just that. I'm talking about this babein' Xtava Satin Wave 5 in 1 Curling Wand* of course - which, as the name sorta suggests, is five styling tools in one; as well as having the added bonus of being sleek AF.
This bad boy has been such a useful addition to the designated hair styling drawer in my Alex unit [Ikea ofc, I'm so basic] over Christmas - with its 5 different sized barrels, there's so many different looks you can achieve with just the one tool.
And for those of you who've been lusting over the Lee Stafford Chopstick Curler [this wand is like crack to bloggers] there's actually a chopstick styling head included with the Xtava ... just with 4 other choices in the box too. And I'm all about that value for money, being the raging tramp that I so blatantly am. Why just buy one wand, when you can get 5 for just a smidge more moola?
The styler is dead easy to use, with tonnes of proper useful features to make life easier; and bad hair days a thing of the past. As you can see, ya Xtava set includes 5 interchangeable ceramic tourmaline barrels; each giving a different finish to your locks - ranging from tight, chopstick curls to beachy loose waves.
The wand has 9 temperature settings [between 90 - 210c], a 60 minute auto-sleep mode [which is super useful if, like me, you constantly worry you've left your irons / wands on and are about to burn the house down] and includes a heat resistant glove & travel case too [which again, further eradicate my fear of setting fire to everything and everyone.]
The styling attachments slot in and out dead easily, with a lock feature to keep them in place once you're getting ya style on. They heat up rapidly and leave lasting curls, waves and ringlets in yo mane; which I normally finish with a little setting spray to keep them intact for longer.
The attachments themselves range in size from 0.76cm up to 3.2cm, so you can imagine the versatility of the looks you can wazz together with them... though so far, I've stuck to the larger barrels for loose waves as I'm boring & haven't left the house much. Just once, for pizza [exceptions have to be made in this scenario, amiright?] Defo keep your eyes peeled to Instagram though, cos I very much intend to post more looks with the other barrels & generally show my rancid mug on there more in 2018.
The icing on the cake when it comes to this wand [you have no many times I've nearly typed wang instead of wand & died lolling like an immature school boy] is its packaging - it might be 5 wands in one and a fraction of the price you'd expect to pay for all that; but there's no scrimping on the design or packaging in an attempt for the manufacturer to cut costs. The curler comes in a gorgeous presentation box; rather like GHDs, making it a fantastic gift idea and really enhancing the Xtava experience - something I wasn't expecting and was totes taken aback by.
I'm really impressed with my first Xtava experience and would recommend this professionally designed tool to anyone; regardless of your expertise in the hair styling world. It's flawlessly designed, beautifully packaged, affordable AF [even for poor ppl like me] and produces professional, long-lasting results. Winner, winner, chicken dinner.
What do you use to curl your locks? Which of the styling attachments would you use most from this set?
