I thought my radar was pretty switched on when it came to my knowledge of beauty stockists & places where my money can totes burn a hole in my pocket [not that I really have any money... or many garments with pockets. But yeno. Metaphors and that, hun.] Turns out, this was one of the [very rare frequent] occasions I was wrong.
I recently got me mitts on some fab lil goodies from The Original Factory Shop, who are holding a proper fab beauty event at the moment. And in the interests of simultaneously bankrupting us all and sharing the best beauty bargains, I thought I'd bash together a lil post today; to give you a better idea of what to expect. Oh, and to let you know that with code BLOGGER10 on the online store, you can totes score yourself a lil discount, too.
TOFS sells well known home, fashion and beauty brands at up to 70% off their original RRP; which sounds friggin' right up my street, tbh. Their closest store isn't that close to me, but I'm game as a badger to have a wander round one soon... I love discount stores & all the hidden gems filling the shelves. But for now, their online store has plenty of sick bargs for me to sniff out; like David Dickinson in his Bargain Hunt days, just slightly less orange and defo minus those pure tragic fleeces they all wore on the show.
Beauty wise, TOFS stock a huge variety of known and lesser known brands - ideal for the #bblogger fam, looking to explore the makeup world without having to remortgage the family home to pay for it. In store their available brands include Elizabeth Arden, Clinique, Clarins, OPI, Revlon, Rimmel & more. Which is a bit of alright, innit? Here's a quick rundown on the brands & products I've been trying as part of this event.
Do My Makeup [DMM] 3d Fibre Lashes Set*
Well, this is a bit posh, isn't it? DMM aren't a brand I've had any dealings with before, so I'm excited to expand my beauty glossary / knowledge with the goodies I was sent from them from TOFS. I'm a huge false lash / ragingly long, dramatic eyelashes fan, so I'm always keen to try new mascaras which can help me achieve this aesthetic. Fibre mascaras add stacks of length and volume to your lashes - for example, this one from DMM actually promises to give them a 300% boost... which is maths that I actually like.
I've had mixed feelings about the fibre lash mascaras I've tried in the past, so I'm very curious to see where this one ranks in my overall experience with them. I quite liked the BPerfect one I tried a couple of years ago... but hated that Younique one, cos it made it look like a thousand baby spiders had died on my eyelashes. The wands on this set look pretty good, so I'm hoping that the results will blow me away.
Do My Makeup [DMM] Mineral Makeover Colour Correcting Powder Compact & Brush Set*
How cute is this dotty DMM compact of dreams, pls? Coming with its own cute & super soft powder brush, this is probably the one product I'm most hyped about from this fab lil TOFS delivery. I'm a big fan of the whole colour correcting life, and this perfecting base contains four shades to brighten & conceal skin. It's beautifully soft & lightweight on ya face; created with ultra fine micronised minerals.
It creates a lovely base & is ideal for those cba with makeup but don't want to look like fried sh*te days. It's fragrance free, mineral makeup which combines foundation & concealer into one polka dot pan; boosted with colour correctors which mask & even out imperfections - smoothing and brightening ya face. Very impressed.
Sensationail Gel Colour Polish in Shade Miss Behave*
I've tried out Sensationail before; so luckily I already have the LED lamp you need to use alongside their gel polishes. Their gel polishes, when used properly [there's definitely an art / technique you need to adhere to with this brand, for best results] can last 7-10 days; like a salon manicure, but from home. Miss Behave is a shade that massively floats my boat - it's like a deep burgundy-maroon-oxblood kinda colour; similar to the polishes I reach for [when I can actually be arsed to do my nails] 99% of the time.
TOFS are definitely one to check out - don't forget to check out their store locator to see where the closest branch is to where you live. And, just in case you need a cheeky reminder, that dizzy code again is BLOGGER10.
Have you shopped at The Original Factory Shop before? Have you tried any of the brands featured in this post?
