Life's better with a tan. Like, infinitely better. I always feel so much better about myself when I've bronzed up... the act of fake tanning legit takes me from a 0/10 to a strong 2. Alright, a 1.37 if I'm being totally frank.
One brand who totally feel me on this point and continually help me achieve my tanning goals are, of course, Skinny Tan.
You may remember I worked with them last month on the release of their brand new Wonderglow Serum [and was lucky enough to try a sample before it was released to the general public, so I'm totally like Zoella now okay hun?] and this month has brought about yet another new release from them - the Skinny Tan Pro-Tan Moisture Mousse* you'll have seen in my pics. The Pro-Tan Moisture Mousse is [as the name suggests] a foam / mousse consistency; which instantly earned it a few brownie points from me, as I find fake tans formulated like this so much easier to use than others. The longer you leave it on, the deeper your tan develops. So naturally, I smothered myself in it and left it on for as long as humanely possible.
The mousse itself doesn't smell like a thousand digestive biscuits decaying on the surface of the sun - instead, it's coconut-infused and a far cry away from vintage tanners I used to use. It's easy to buff into the skin, dries fairly quickly and although it has a slight tacky feeling afterward, it's considerably more comfortable to leave on to develop than the majority of tanning products.
It has a colour guide in its formula, meaning that you're left instantly bronzed but also; that you can judge where you've applied it, so you don't miss any patches & die of shame the day after. Be careful with this stuff on your hands / feet if you're newer to the tanning game - don't apply too much, try to work a little moisturiser into the formula to tone down its tanning magic and take extra care to buff the product into these problem areas to ensure a more natural finish. The pink Skinny Tan buffing mitt is one of my favourite all time fake tan applicators and works really well on this task.
I was DED impressed when I washed this tan off. It's really even - and really natural looking all over. It even applied evenly on my face... and areas where my fake tan normally doesn't seem to take well have maintained a bronzed glow even a few days on. I feel a million times better about my skin and body when it's coated in this natural looking, even tan; and my makeup also applies approx a million times better for it too. Possible contender for new all-time favourite fake tan ever.
I also really enjoyed the fact that when I washed the stain off, I was actually left with a very similar colour in its aftermath. There's very few things more soul-destroying than fake tanning yourself to a strong 9, for it to all wash off in an instant when you shower. But this stuff is in it for the long-haul - and doesn't go pure patchy or shameful as you wear it. Always a bonus.
Another month, another new release - but this is one I'd definitely recommend; to any seasoned tanner who likes to achieve a deep yet natural bronzed finish. Pick up a bottle in Superdrug and let me know how you find it!
