Let Happiness Bloom 💐 | Spreading Joy During Difficult Times, With Moonpig*

Life is weird right now. Life is hard AF right now. And that's putting it lightly. I tell you what, when I made my 2020 New Year's Resolutions, locking myself down in the house for months on end did not make the cut. And Ms Rona certainly didn't.

It's so hard to know what to say, what to advise to those struggling and what to do at the moment. Does anyone know what to do right now?! Not even the fella supposed to be running the country has a clue, so 🙈

One thing I do know, though, is how important it is to not sweat the small stuff and to try to focus on the positives life brings us right now; pandemic or no pandemic. Yeah we're banished to our homes, but open the window. Smell that warm, summer-is-coming, leafy air... watch the pigeons frolicking, smile as you hear everyone clapping for the NHS on a Thursday evening. Call a family member, video chat with your pals, give your pets extra boops. Lie in, binge watch Netflix, start a TikTok account for the lols. Sleep for the foreseeable or start a side hustle. It's your call and there's no right or wrong way to spend lockdown.

As much as this is a horrible time, there are definitely positives to take from our current situation. We're being told we HAVE to stay at home in our duvets eating takeaway watching TV every day (or something like that)... and like... how often is that the only thing we wanna do, instead of getting the 86A to work at 6:58am after standing in the rain for 20 minutes? And now it's acceptable & we're praised for doing it, instead of being labelled as 'lazy'?!

There are so many good things in the world despite all the sh*t...  so much beauty, so many little things (we often take for granted) which make us smile. So many things for us to enjoy - and to share with others during these difficult times; making them smile when they might need it the most. A huge one of these things for me (as well as fluffy pets & red wine) is fresh flowers - I adore having them around the home, they instantly brighten my mood. I've teamed up with my huns at Moonpig for this post today - who are spreading joy with their beautiful home deliveries of flowers during the pandemic, to talk about exactly this.

I love having fresh flowers about the gaff - it makes me feel like I've properly got my life in gear and they make me smile every time I pass them. And this absolutely stunning bouquet Moonpig very kindly sent me is no exception to this rule.

I look at this beaut bouquet and it's just the happiest feeling - they bring such a breath of fresh air into the home. As well as a gorgeous scent. A bouquet of blooms makes the most beautiful addition to your home interior. A mood booster. A way of bringing the outside, in... during a time where we can't go out. And for a moment - despite the hell going on outside, and the anxiety in the pit of my belly thinking Ms Rona, I forget everything.

You get me right? It's not just me who goes full on boho / hippie vibes with a bunch of flowers? This happiness - these little moments of joy - those beautiful scents and gorgeous textures, is something I cherish... and a feeling I want to enjoy, spread and share with the loved ones in my life. Especially right now, during what is probably one of the most surreal, mental experiences we'll go through during our lifetimes.

Spread joy - let happiness bloom - and show a loved one you're thinking of them even if you can't physically be there, with flowers. Moonpig's ‘Let Happiness Bloom’ campaign is all about spreading love through acts of kindness... which is something we definitely need more of atm. Even though we can’t see each other, a message through the post goes a long way! Flowers are said to brighten a room and your mood, their scent lowering stress symptoms by oxygenating the air & making us feel like the best version of ourselves. Yaaaaas.

I'm obsessed with my flowers guys. I've literally taken more photos of them than I can even explain - I'm a bit of a macro nerd and adore taking close ups of textures, patterns and petals - this bunch alone has brought me so many hours of entertainment during lockdown. They bring me so much joy - every time I walk by them and have a gander, another lily has opened and they're even more beautiful than the day before. Can't cope

Flowers have strong ties with wellbeing - and sending someone some during testing times (such as right now, with Ms Rona ruining everything for everyone ever) can totally change someone's outlook. A beaut bouquet changes the landscape of that person's living environment. It lifts their spirits. It reminds them they're not alone. As I mentioned before, it brings some of the freshness of the outdoors in, during a time we can't go out.⁣
Bouquets cheer people up, help us feel calmer and sprinkle some positivity into our surroundings - something I can verify this bunch have done for me every day since they arrived with me. Every time I wander by them I stop to admire them. They've brought me lots of joy, and as part of this campaign I've also been able to gift a couple of bouquets to some of my nearest & dearests to brighten their days too.... I just think this is the nicest gesture and overall can't cope.⁣ I can't wait to see their bouquets, see their faces (virtually) and surprise them by sprinkling a little flowery magic into their week.
