What've I Been Lovin' In Lockdown?*

WOW. Lockdown has been a mad one, hasn't it? And (contrary to everyone flocking to Bournemouth beach and attending mad raves round Formby) we are still in it.... the pandemic isn't over yet chums, Ms Rona is still wreaking havoc across the world and we need to band together to stop this bitch. ANYWAY.

You'd think that during lockdown I'd have loadssss more time on me hands to get up to date with blog stuff, but I'll be honest huns - I've been busier than ever I reckon, working my (ever growing, and in a snack not squat way) arse off to keep things ticking over work-wise and not die of COVID-19. I'm dead behind on all kinds and AM SORRY, I'm a terrible human. But I'm here, I'm attempting to redeem my blogging sins and today, we're talking about some of the bits I've discovered / been loving during lockdown.

Online Shopping Like An Uncontrollable Beast

I don't know what's happened to me tbh huns, lockdown has sent me full ROGUE ordering stuff. I saw that tweet that got pure made into a meme - the 'parcel a day keeps the sadness away' one and I have to say, I relate to that on a spiritual level these days.

Online sales have enticed me in a massive way. From clothing to boring home bits... to jewellery and accessories (apparently lockdown has turned me into a sunglasses collector?? Like I don't even go anywhere but have bought about 234234 pairs in the sale??!) I've gone full Ariana and seen it, liked it, wanted it and got it.

Has my credit score plummeted 30 points this month? Yes hun. Do I care? NOPE, so you can shove your patronising emails Experian, I already know I'm royally f*cked... but would you like some sunglasses?

I've hammered ASOS, Missguided, Amazon (Prime has changed my life tbh - next day home cleaning products and access to the full South Park back catalogue has saved my sanity these past few weeks), Makeup Revolution and SHEIN the most heavily I'd say, shop wise. We'll talk more about SHEIN soon btw - you may have seen my ranty stories on IG.

Toffee Crisps

I mean, need I say more? I've always loved Toffee Crisps, but during lockdown this chocolate bar has risen back up to the 'God Tier' of snacks for me... and I legit can't stop eating them. I need to stop. I probs should stop. But I just can't.

Skincare & Self Care

I've actually been quite alright at keeping up a skincare regime during lockdown. Not much else to do realistically, is there? I've been rediscovering old faves, trying out new bits from one of my never ending stream of online shopping hauls and testing newbies I've been gifted to review by brands most days.

Pretty early on into lockdown, when that bitch Rona initially showed her spiky virus face, my huns at Look Fantastic sent me a little box of goodies to cheer me up & help look after my hair / skin / self during what has been a grim AF few months - which was lovely, and there were some fab bits in there. If you wanna subscribe to their fab monthly boxes, code NIKKIABB will knock 10% off the cost of 6 or 12 month plans btw. Not affiliate tha, I'm just a big fan of the box tbh.

My absolute HUNS at Pixi sent me a HUGE Glow Tonic* with my name on it pre-lockdown - which legit makes my existence every time I look at it. Glow Tonic is my go-to toner - I've worked my way through so many bottles of this stuff over the past few years. AND THIS ONE HAS MY NAME ON, can't cope.

In the adorbs PR parcel Pixi sent with this super-size toner was 2 mini Glow Tonics with cute lil labels on, so I could share the gift of glow with my mates. Such a cute idea! And I did - posted one bottle to my friend who had some bad news as part of a pamper parcel, and another to my best pal who's recently started expanding her Pixi skincare collection due to how much I talk about it (and force under-eye patches on her when we're hungover!)

Dermalogica Comin' Through

I'm a big Dermalogica enthusiast - as well as one of their #Skinfluencers, dontcha know 😎, and they've sent over some amazing new releases before and during lockdown to enjoy.

Their new SPF* is the most gorge consistency, I'll be writing a rave review for their new retinol collection soon (SO GUD!) and another intriguing product from them that I've been using pretty regularly is this Active Clay Cleanser* - which smells like oranges; a lovely, fresh, zesty scent that I properly enjoy rubbing onto my massive, mingin face.

As an oily-skinned gal, clay products are pretty much life in controlling the massive oil-slick disaster zone that is my face, and I've been enjoying how good this feels on your skin as it detoxifies and cleanses.

[AD GIFTED] This STUNNING Daisy London Necklace

I only discovered Daisy London earlier this year, and it didn't take me long to fall head over heels in love with their range (I've not stopped wearing this Daisy London ring since I got it, & I never intend to!) I absolutely adore their designs - minimal, quirky, top quality and the whole experience (packaging, presentation, delivery etc) is unbeatable. They're my perfect jewellery designer tbh.

This beautiful moon detail necklace (shop Daisy London gold necklaces here) is everything I could want in a piece of jewellery and more. You guys have also been loving it over on Instagram - your comments have been ded nice. The figaro chain detail contrasted with the textured, delicate moon decoration is the most stylish, minimal, feminine yet contemporary blend - I absolutely adore it. And I love that as Daisy London is a slightly higher price point, their pieces actually last and don't go green / copper / mouldy... making them actual statement pieces that are an investment & incredible value for money all at the same time.

I'll be wearing this constantly when we're finally allowed to go outside and I actually get dressed & consider putting pants on. Here's a few thousand pics to visually represent my love for this beaut piece.

YSL Black Opium Perfume

Lastly, I went full rogue on the when we entered lockdown and ordered a bottle of this fab YSL Black Opium perfume... cos what better time than just as we enter a national quarantine period where noone is allowed to see anyone - let alone get close enough to them to appreciate their choice of perfume - is there to get an expensive new fragrance???? Rly. Swear me life trolls me.

I do really love this fragrance - I had it as a sample and always used to think to myself 'I must buy this full size one day, when am not picking pennies off the floor' and so. Here we are. Excited to make new memories wearing it, when we return to the 'outside times' at some point in 2020.
