The struggle is real when it comes to finding a curling wand I get on well with. I'm dead fussy when it comes to the kinda curls & waves I like in ma hair - if the barrel is even a mm too thin, I feel like my curls look too tight & that I resemble either a giant-ass blonde poodle [representing fake tan, most likely; badly] or a really tragic 80s throwback. My hair holds a curl pretty well too, so on the [potentially life-ruining] off-chance that I end up looking like I've come straight outta the Medieval era [with some pyar mop of tightly formed ringlets] it takes considerable time before they start to drop out & loosen.
The stunning, rainbow, unicorn-esque wand you see below however; is a babe. Since she arrived in my life the other week, she's blessed my hair with effortless looking bouncy curls, volume and sass. This beaut is one of the latest releases from our boy Lee Stafford; his new Rainbow Shine Curling Wand*. And it's as easy to use as it is Instagrammable... which is, of course, extremely. I don't think I've ever owned a prettier, pinker, rainbow-y hair styling implement in my life. Best life achieved.
The wand heats up pretty swiftly - meaning no matter how late you're running for work [lol story of my entire life] you can still add a little glam into your look. Even if getting you to said presentable state was anything but glamorous. I won't judge. Most of my mornings getting ready for work are spent turning off the 25 alarms I set & snoozing... before doing a mad dash around the house [naked] swearing, panicking & cursing my love of sleep; whilst trying to locate a taxi and apply false lashes with the other hand.
It also comes with a little heat resistant pink glove [which is so Lee Stafford] so you don't end up pure burning your hand as you wrap your hair around the wand. Which is, if you're not careful, a very real threat.
The wand's 25mm barrel creates big ‘n’ bouncy curls; none of this mad permed poodle business. It's clipless; so you simply grab sections of hair and wrap them around it's girth [ooh-err] before letting them go to reveal perfectly formed curls; blessed with shine. Despite it reaching up to 220°C, the wand doesn't seem to cinge, burn or damage my hair either... which is, as my idol Borat would say; a great success!
If you saw my hair on Insta this weekend; the curls I was sporting were created by this lil beaut - and then defined & texturised with Ouai. But for reference, here's some pouty selfies from the other week; to better illustrate the kinda look you'll get from this sized barrel. Soz for the filter - my face is pretty rancid; so it's a daunting task to unleash it in its pure, uncensored form on the internet.
I love everything about this wand - its design, unique rainbow electroplated finish, its salon length cord [which when your room's as messy as mine is a God-send gals, I'm tellin ya!] its fast heat up & consistent temperature maintaining and the glam yet mid-loose curls it leaves in my tresses.
The wand itself retails at around £34.99; which is well worth it, in my opinion. There's so many hit and miss products on the market when it comes to curling / wave creating wands [believe me, I've bought enough of these buggers in my time!] at the moment; so it really pays off to do your research before you head out shopping. Hopefully my mad ramblings, reams of photos & awkward AF selfies will have given you all the information you'll need to figure out if this styler is right for you - but feel free to ping me a quick message if you have any questions!
What's your favourite Lee Stafford product? What do you use to curl your hair?
*This post contains an item I was gifted for the purpose of review, but all opinions and rancid selfies are very much my own xo
