Lips
Statement lipsticks are definitely something you'll wanna consider for festive parties and for Christmas Day; so we bring you one of our favourites. You'll want something long lasting that still looks great... even when you’ve taken advantage of the kissing opportunities under the mistletoe & had a couple of drinks too, right? Enter our first recommendation - we love Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick.
This lippy does exactly what it says on the tin [tube?], with barely a touch-up needed. This product is our first must-have stocking filler. It retails for £13.49 and can be found on the Stila website.
Second on the list is a lip plumper tool, to give you gloriously pouty lips. There are loads of gimmicky items promising to do this on the market RN, but we like the range at Fofashion, that give great results when needed.
Eyes
Christmas means parties... and that means party palettes for sultry smokey eyes or glittery extravagance. Our third must-have stocking filler is, therefore, the Art Library: Nude Model by one of our favourite brands: MAC. This set comes in at £39 and is available online or via some Boots counters. Its smooth application and long lasting wear makes it the perfect base when it comes to adding a little glamour to your look. Its colours are pigmented yet versatile; making it a Christmas list must.
In at number four is our current favourite mascara. There's plenty out there to choose from... and though it can be tempting to opt for a cheaper version, this can often be a case of false economy. Clumped together lashes and a poorly performing mascara wand are not ideal - and will probably result in you having to splash out again on a better performing brand.
Start as you mean to go with some good quality eye make-up; in the form of Clinique’s High Impact Mascara in black. This intense and lengthening product will make ya eyes pop; completing your look. Foundation
The building block for any look is foundation. Begin and end your evening with flawless, natural skin... which glows even when the late nights are beginning to catch up with you! We love Radiant Cream Foundation from Cle De Peau. It’s not cheap at £128 [via norsdstrum.com] but it is amazing, so if you have a loved one willing to splash out or if you fancy giving yourself a little Christmas wonder, this foundation is for you.
Why do we love it? We’ve gone back to a more natural look when it comes to foundation. The obvious coverings are being dialled back in favour of a healthy glow and this foundation does exactly that. This product leaves your complexion looking like your skin but better. Yeno. Looking like your skin, if your skin was blemish-free, evenly toned and with no sign of dark circles under your eyes. It covers flawlessly, creating a smooth finish that’s easy to blend in. Given the price, it might be one to save for special occasions; but with these results you’ll struggle not to use it everyday.
Our bonus tip to perfect that base is to use a great cover up - such as Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Concealer; which available in various shades. Easy to blend and with good coverage, this concealer is the perfect weapon to have in your make-up bag ready for when blemishes strike.
