Base Beauty are a newly launched beauty company [whose Instagram slays my life a little] who sell what can only be described as ultimate blogger goals. I'm talking silicone beauty blenders, the latest craze to sweep the #bblogger world... but not just your bog-standard siliblender. Hell no. Base Beauty's stunning Diamond Blenders* are extra soft, made from medical grade silicone for hygiene purposes AND full of glitter. I can't cope.

I was one of those people who wasn't entirely sure of the whole siliblender thing initially - there's no denying they look a little like the gel fillets you find in bras. And the thought of whacking myself in the face with a glorified breast implant made me question my life a bit. But Base Beauty's glittery, minimal yet glam blender design has put me at ease - and made what can be quite a plain, boob-resembling object a thing of total beauty. Just look at it. I'm a bit in love guys, tbh. It's a bit of a game changer.

Diamond Blender, rrp £14.99 [but on special offer for £8.99 during launch week!]

This sparkly little babe is a silicone makeup applicator, designed to give you the most hygienic and flawless application every time; without wasting product. Its plastic, non-porous surface doesn't soak in or smear product in the same way brushes or sponges tend to, meaning that a little of that Estée Lauder foundation now goes a long way - and your credit card can breathe easy.

It's specially shaped for precision; the tip of this siliblender is perfect for use under your eyes and around your nose. The larger, curved base of the blender is ideal to apply and blend out larger areas of the face - like my massive fod!

Although blending sponges and makeup brushes still totes have their place, there are some undeniable advantages to incorporating a Diamond Blender into your life too.

1. Well, for one - it's totes cleaner than my sponges and brushes, that only get cleaned once every blue moon. The Diamond Blender is made from medical-grade, hypoallergenic silicone that doesn't harbour any breakout-causing bacteria or dirt. It's suitable for all skin types.

2. Its non-porous surface doesn't soak up any of your expensive liquid makeup, so there's no waste.

3. Once you get your mitts on one of these bad boys, you won't be able to stop squishing it. Like me. It's silky smooth, soft and flexible - meaning that it can help you flawlessly apply any form of liquid makeup into all areas of the face. Even the inners of your eyes. Like a boss.

4. It's easy to clean. Your Diamond Blender literally wipes clean in seconds with water or a makeup wipe. #GOALS

5. It's cruelty free, not tested on animals and made from top quality medical-grade silicone; for an amazing, ethical performance.

I've been trying this little beaut out for the past week or so, and I'm really impressed. I had heard mixed reviews about silicone blenders before I tried this one, but I guess you get what you pay for - this is a more of a luxury siliblender than the £3 specials I've been seeing people try out from eBay. Made from top quality silicone and not latex - like a lot of the cheap imitations are - this blender is totally soft and pretty effective on my skin. It definitely makes a small amount of foundation go a much longer way than it used to, and builds a flawless finish.

As you can see from the swatches above [which were done using the exact same amount of foundation] the Sponge Blender absorbs more product as you glide it over the skin, whereas there is more product consistently within the Diamond Blender swatch. The same amount of liquid makeup gives thicker coverage to the skin when using the silicone blender than the damp Beauty Blender does.

I find it much easier to use my Diamond Blender around my nose and under my eyes than a sponge applicator; thanks to its shape. And thanks to its non-porous surface, it doesn't pure drink my liquid makeup; meaning it gives me fuller coverage on the areas that need it most!

I totally recommend trying the Diamond Blender - it looks amazing, feels great, has a ton of benefits and works super effectively. It's like, a modern, glittery evolution of the sponge makeup applicators we all know and love - Blender 2.0. And I love it.

You can order your own Diamond Blender here. AND if you enter code NIKKI10 at the checkout, you'll get a cheeky 10% discount; on me.

Have you tried a silicone blender yet? What are your thoughts on this one?
