Before I quickly nipped to the corner shop for some emergency cookies the other day, I thought I'd pop on a bit of foundation or something. Mostly just to mask my rancid face, therefore causing minimal trauma to the local smackheads I'd likely see en-route [they look like they've already had enough aggro in their lives without that added infliction; poor sh*ts.]

I wasn't gonna waste MY ABSOLUTE ALL TIME FAV Makeup Revolution Foundation Drops on the slightly odd fella in the shop, so I had a rummage about the back of my makeup drawer into my backup foundation stockpile for something to use. The end result being something so horrific it has vividly scarred me and p*ssed me off to the extent I felt I wanted to write about it.

I ended up going for this foundation; the Rimmel 25 hr with Comfort Serum one. And that's where this happy tale of cookies and trips to see corner shop bae sorta ends abruptly... if this was a film, the camera would now pan round to my kitchen bin in a dramatic manner; as that's where said foundation ended up within minutes

And yes, I did then have to fish it out to take these blog pics... before aggressively binning it AGAIN. I regret nothing

ALSO I've just looked online now - when the eff did this foundation get so expensive?! I swear it used to be like, £5.99... not over £8!! Now I'm even more enraged.

I used to really love this foundation. I have no idea why, was I on crack at the time? Maybe, hun.

Colour-match wise = this sh*t is bangin'. Spot on. Everything else though? A sick joke. From the moment I began blending it into my massive moonface [with my beloved Beauty Blender, obv] it felt tacky AF... and it progressively just felt worse and worse

SO heavy, so sticky and so tacky

My skin was pretty much begging me to cleanse it the f off as soon as I'd applied it - it wasn't at all breathable and the sticky, rubbery sensation made me feel like I was wearing a pure latex gimp mask or something. I slamdunked dat sh*t into the kitchen bin like Michael Jordan [back in his prime] with immediate effect.

I was so let down. I know I was only nipping out for cookies and to see if I could spot any change on the floor [found 6p today, not even messin' #Ballin] but the way that foundation left me skin feeling; it was like I was heading out to audition for House of Wax 2.

I obv messaged me gals immediately after this traumatic experience to share the news, and their feedback also reminded me of the reason I stopped using it back in the day... that the immediate 'full coverage' effect it gives you does not last long at all

I was totes triggered by it and this experience tbh; I vividly recalled times when this sh*t had melted off my face in places and bubbled up around me nose in the past... a problem I hadn't experienced in years and would never get with my beloved Makeup Revolution drops.

Not the one.

I'd like to see Rimmel make a comeback; all this being said yeno. I feel like out of all the budget highstreet beauty brands, they've kinda sat on their laurels for ages now and not released anything exciting or innovative. Just sorta, boring. Although, never ever EVER bringing the formula of this sh*t back. What do you reckon?

Have you tried this foundation before? Has it betrayed anyone else as badly as it betrayed me? What's your favourite Rimmel product?
