I'm pretty house-bound at the moment [as well as extremely poor] and let's not lie: I'm bitter as hell about it. I've been watching my friends' Snapchat and Instagram stories of them at Glastonbury with a fiery, jealous, rage burning deep in my stomach.
But putting my own beef aside, I do actually absolutely love Summer and Festival Season more than anything: the fashion, the tan, the hair, the makeup ... the boho style and carefree vibes. So I've put together a little post with some beauty / fashion inspo for you guys to embrace this Summer - perfect picks for Festival Season, holiday, days out in the park and just general ways to save time - & feel fantastic over the warmer months. #FestivalMistHaves, if you will.
So...? and Jewellery Box very kindly sent me some key items to style for Summer 2017 - all things I'd class as essential when staying somewhere unfamiliar and experiencing new places, cultures and people. In style. I'm talking feeling fresh, smelling good and showing off a wicked boho sense of style; through minimal, yet statement pieces of jewellery. Cos we all know one of the best highlights of Festival season is seeing who wore what and this season's biggest fashion trends come to life. Coachella is one of my favourite searches when I'm looking for boho, Summer inspo; for example.
An absolute life essential [as well as a definite #FestivalMistHave] for me is dry shampoo. The number of times this invention has saved me after oversleeping like a beast is unreal. Dry shampoo is so useful when travelling or at a Festival. It's quick [literally takes seconds] doesn't require any water or electric to blowdry your hair and leaves your locks smelling lush. So regardless of whether you're camping at a Festival, having a lazy day by the pool on vacay or just [like me] can't really be arsed to wash your hair tonight; these fab dry shampoos* from So...? have got your back.
I never even realised So...? made dry shampoo; but they do and it's really good. Like, really good. It smells gorgeous, doesn't leave pure loads of grey in your hair like you've suddenly aged about 40 years and leaves your hair looking clean - it's a life hack every girl should have access to. Packing a can of dry shampoo in your Festival bag is so much more compact and lightweight than lugging around towels and hair products; too. And just in case you're still not convinced - So...? also make cute mini cans - tiny enough to fit into your bejewelled festival bum bag and as light as air.
This beautiful, dainty necklace is from Jewellery Box* [shop it here] and I couldn't have imagined a more perfect Festival necklace if I tried. With its delicate dream catcher design and bright blue gemstone, this jewellery will look unreal teamed with a tan, messy hair and denim. It's so boho, so Summer and so pretty against the skin - plus it's such a reasonable price, too! An Instagram dream; in equally Instagrammable packaging.
And last but not least, I think my ultimate #SoFestivalMistHave HAS to be a So...? body mist [or 12.] They're just perfect for the Summer - they're fresh, fruity and lightweight to stick in your handbag; plus spritzing them on when you're on the hot 'n' sticky side of life brings RELIEF LIKE NO OTHER. And when you're in the sun all day at a Festival - where there's mud, sweat, spilt drinks and not many opportunities for washing, a So...? Body Mist* would be the first thing I'd reach for. My personal favourites in these body mists are White Petals, Wild Berries, Pink Grapefruit and Fresh Floral. I love having a signature scent on holiday or at special occasions with friends; as my mind associates that smell with those memories forever after. Which is a lovely nostalgic moment to have. Check out So...?'s very reasonably priced collection at Boots and Superdrug.
What are your must haves for Festival Season? Have you tried either of the brands in this post? What do you think is going to be this Summer 2017's biggest fashion trend?
