Although my face and general fod department is as oily as a deep fat fryer at Burger King, my body can be prone to dry skin. I've mentioned my own personal struggles with psoriasis in the past; after which I've been super keen to keep my skin nourished and hydrated, to avoid any relapses.
Until I suffered with psoriasis / eczema, I had no idea how difficult it is to deal with on a daily basis. My skin was SO itchy [man, it was bad] and I couldn't sleep for weeks. The scales of psoriasis would drive me mad and I struggled to find products over the counter in Boots to help me [at the time.] The itching creams and E45 emollients I tried seemed to do nothing. So speaking from experience when it comes to the perils of dry, irritated and painful skin; I can hand-on-heart say that Epaderm* is one of the most effective moisturisers I've used in terms of soothing and calming down dry skin.
I've tried Epaderm before [you can read about my initial experience in this post] and felt it was one of the most beneficial deep-moisturising creams I'd ever tried. It's a lightweight formula that instantly cools and hydrates the skin; it's not oily or greasy at all.
The only criticism I could find of my first experience with this brand was with the size of the bottle. Although the 500g bottle is fantastic value and, at the end of the day, never going to be a bad thing as it's just more of a product I love - its HUGE size and weight meant that it was difficult to travel with. And we all know that dry skin and other conditions don't just go away when you leave the house - if you have irritable skin, you will most likely need to use product on it a few times a day.
Bearing this feedback in mind, the guys over at Epaderm have come up with these dinky, super handy 'On-The-Go' size bottles [150ml, rrp £6.99] which offer people living with dry skin conditions a convenient choice to pop in your holiday suitcase, handbag, gym bag etc.
The bottles are no taller than an aerosol deodorant or body spray and come with a protective cap and nozzle cover to stop them leaking in transit. They're super handy and contain enough product to keep you going for a while; without weighing down your handbag or suitcase.
Epaderm boasts a formula which is pure, simple and effective. It's a 2-in-1 cream which can be used as a skin cleanser and an emollient. And in terms of skin hydration and smoothness, Epaderm is scientifically proven to outperform other leading brands. Recommended by doctors PLUS fragrance, colouring and SLS free; it's fantastic at managing and treating eczema or psoriasis.
I think it's really important to raise awareness of and talk about different skin conditions within the blogosphere; as when I was suffering from psoriasis I felt very isolated, like a weirdo and that I didn't have access to people who understood what I was talking about! But yet its a very, very common condition - even celebs like Kimmy K have it. And there's lots of products out there, just waiting to be discovered, that can help you. That's why I love working with HelloSkin so much and why I jumped at the chance to work with Epaderm on this post; to help keep the community informed and supported.
If you're looking for a super hydrating moisturiser or a product to help calm your dry skin condition[s], Epaderm is a fantastic shout. Especially now you can pick it up in these all new on-the-go sized bottles - they're just so handy and a perfectly designed addition to the Epaderm Cream family.
Keep your eyes peeled for the new sized bottles at Boots and Superdrug; where their recommended retail price is £6.99.
