I love trying new brands when it comes to makeup - there's literally so much choice out there that it blows my tiny mind a little. I recently had the pleasure of trying out a few bits from Wonderland Makeup; who weren't a brand I'd heard of prior to this experience, I won't lie to ya huns.... but true to their name, they are pretty damn wonderful tbh - and I'm super glad I've now discovered their range of high end quality yet cruelty free products [especially the primer.] Here's a lil overview on why.

My baes at Wonderland very kindly gifted me their Studio Finish Primer* [which I now swear by], their Lash Thickening Mascara* and a pot of one of their dinky Loose Pigments* in Matte Black to try out and review in this post. I wasn't sure what to expect until the products arrived; but the moment I saw that sleek, monochromatic packaging I was keen AF

And of course, the cruelty free ethos that this brand encompasses in their product range is another massive boat floater for me [I've kinda made that phrase up, from the whatever floats your boat saying. But I'm going with it even if you think I'm a knob, cos I think it's sick.]

The stand-out product from this trio of triumph for me, has to be the Studio Finish Primer. It's so good - comparable [and in some ways, superior] to some of my other faves from Toofaced, Milani and Laura Mercier

It blurs imperfections perfectly and  my makeup simply glides on with this magical primer in place - as well as lasting the test of time, and not sliding halfway down me face after a few hours... oh, the joys of oily skin. The primer also boasts a lovely, velvety texture & consistency; which leaves your face feeling mighty fiiiiiine. A little goes a dead long way too, making it great value for money; which is what I'm all. about.

The loose pigment is very easy to blend; in a consistency which allows you to build up colour until you reach your desired effect, perfectly smokin' out dem eyes. It's pretty decent in terms of pigmentation & colour pay-off too, as you can see from the swatch below. I really like the design of the dinky lil pot - having that extra cover beneath the lid is sooooo useful - it saves on so much product wastage or accidental spills. Both of which I'm pretty much an expert in... my poor carpet. And landlord.

Last up, we have the Thickening Mascara. The spiral-design wand is really good at grabbing onto your lashes, and ensuring that product isn't laid on too thick. I've used this brush head as a comb a few times actually due to such, to rectify the rendition of clumpy town that Benefit's Bad Gal Bang left in my lashes.

It definitely does what it says on the bottle and thickens lashes - though with my eyelashes being pathetic excuses ever since the great eyelash curler disaster of year 10 school photograph day [RIP to all the lashes who were sacrificed on that day] it can't work miracles on me and / or polish a turd. I use this mascara to bulk out sparse patches; once I've already applied my lengthening products - and it works really well in this role! Defo a great pick for those of you who naturally have a bit of length and lift to your lashes, and wanna add a bit of thickness and definition.

I've been dead impressed with my first experience with Wonderland Makeup - they've gone from being a brand I hadn't heard of, to being a brand I use pretty regularly on my face... that primer guys. THAT PRIMER. If there's one thing from Wonderland you've gotta try, it's definitely that. It was definitely created in some wondrous, magical alternate dimension. And I laaaaaaav it.

Their packaging and branding is on-point [call me shallow, but that's a big selling point for me & something I pick up on from the get-go], they're cruelty free [which is something I'm trying to be more mindful of when buying cosmetic products.. I've even started eating Quorn, guys!!!!] and their products are high quality, effective and reasonably priced. Thanks once again for sending me these goodies, Wonderland HQ!
