Well. January's Little Known Box was a bangin' edit - what a cracking way to start 2019! With a fab selection of beauty & skincare goodies from some of my fav brands [such as MONUSkin & Nanshy] their Winter Refresh curation was an absolute dream to unbox - and one I'm keen to show you lovely lot. Immediately. Patience isn't something I have much of - though I still have more of it than I do cash right now 😂
Keep reading to get the full inside scoop on exactly why this month's edit was so bloody brilliant, and to find out a little more about what you can expect from this fab beauty box subscription service.
If you're new to reading my blog, you may not realise quite how much love I have for LKB. They're a really unique beauty subscription service, which I prefer infinitely over others; as they only include new products, up-and-coming brands & little known goodies from brands we know & love... meaning that as a beauty blogger, I'm always one step ahead when it comes to discovering new must-haves.
Another massive selling point for me with this service is the fact that everything included in every Little Known Box, every month is cruelty-free; introducing us to fab new brands that provide cruelty-free alternatives to those sly mainstream names that test on animals. Many of these brands & products being vegan-friendly too.
Unlike some of the bigger names in the beauty subscription box world, you can always tell how much thought & effort goes into each month's curation. Tied with a ribbon & shipped straight to ya door each month. For more information & an idea of what previous months have had to offer, search Little Known Box on my blog. For now - let's crack on delving into this month's edit.
January 2019's LKB follows a Winter Refresh theme; boasting products that'll help us refresh our beauty regimes for the New Year & revamp our makeup bags. There's a nice mix of skincare and beauty this month; which pleases me greatly. There's nothing better than surprise new makeup landing on ya doorstep... and with some of my fav brands being included in said line-up, I was happy as Larry [whoever the sh*t he is] with it.
Balance Me 'Radiance Face Oil', Travel Size [RRP £15 Full Sized]
I love this brand & have got properly into skincare of late; so this lil rollerball tube of goodness is right up my [proverbial] street. With the full-size version retailing at £15, this travel sized hun is a great way of trying before you buy - there's plenty of use in this bottle.
Balance Me products are paraben-free, natural, cruelty-free & made in the UK. They also swerve mineral oils, sulphates, micro-beads, artificial fragrances & colourings. This facial oil is an award-winning skincare hero to keep skin hydrated during the sh*tty, cold Winter months; evening skin tone, minimising signs of ageing & reducing redness. Slay.
Nanshy Makeup Sponge, Full Size, RRP £6.95
I love Nanshy - a brand I'd recommend time and time again. These guys create cruelty-free, vegan products from responsible sources; all designed & produced in the UK. I've tried their blending sponges before aaaaand some of their brushes, and I can totes verify they're fantastic quality - and some of the tools in me makeup bag I reach for the most.
This is their 'Drop of Finesse' blending sponge & it's a soft, perfectly blending bae. It's also latex-free, fragrance free and non-allergenic; making it suitable for pretty much everyone & anyone to use 💗 Inclusivity is the one.
Medusa's Makeup Lipstick, Full Size, RRP $12
Various shades included; I received 'Sugar Daddy'
This brand are unreal. An international brand I discovered via Little Known Box a while ago, I have a lotta love for Medusa's Makeup... their lip products are pigmented AF; as well as being cruelty-free and vegan friendly. Something I really applaud.
Sugar Daddy is a shade I'll definitely wear. It's a stunning nude that I have a lot of time for. It's cool-toned - which is perfect for my weirdly yellow-toned skin & pigmented to hell. I'm also taking it as [sort of] sign that I should definitely retweet all those Sugar Daddy giveaway tweets going around... yes it's 99% likely a scam, however, I'm too poor to risk it on the off-chance it's legit 😂😂
There's three different shades doing the rounds in this month's box - your January edit will contain the shade that the huns at LKB HQ think you'll like the most, based off the answers given in your beauty preferences survey [filled out during the sign-up process.] Probs why my lipstick ticks my boxes so much! You'll either receive Lolita, which is a deep, dark red, Sugar Daddy [as pictured] or Red Square; a classic red lip.
MONU Skincare Collagen Eye Cream, Full Size, RRP £31.96
Oh MONU. I have so much love for these guys. A brand I've worked with outside of LKB, they're incredibly kind & even sent me a few goodies as a little get well treat when I was in hospital the other year.
MONU Skincare are totes cruelty-free; using natural ingredients such as herbs, plants & essential oils to achieve absolute results in their skincare products. Perfect for dry or sensitive skin, this lux eye cream hydrates, lifts & soothes the delicate skin under your eyes; for a more youthful, fresher appearance. Which with my current insomnia-fuelled life, is very much needed!
Personalised Makeup Bag, Full Size, £14.95 from Little Known Box
HOW CUTE IS THIS, PLS? Such a sweet, personalised touch. Available in four different stylish shades, each makeup bag has been branded with your initial in the bottom left-hand corner - which is just bloody lovely. It's a good size & even has a lil handle... meaning you could totes pull it off as a clutch bag, if you wanted to.
Alright, if you've made it to the end of this declaration of love - you're a frigging trooper and I heart you. And you can totally see why I love Little Known Box so much now, right?
