I love NYX Professional Makeup. Always have, always will. So when the news dropped that this fab brand was going to be stocked in Boots - and I witnessed the fitness of the stand in my local store - it was one of the best beauty developments of my life. Me? Dramatic? Never. But rly.
NYX boast a huge range of affordable products, which are:
π Affordable
π Versatile
π Long-lasting
π Cruelty-free
ticking all of my [proverbial] boxes - they're a brand I've shopped, supported & loved for years. I tried my first ever NYX product back in 2013 [which was a pink lip butter lipgloss] and from then on; I was sold - and it's been the best 6 year relationship of my life. Ever. Shots fired.
NYX are one of those brands I'd class as accessible, affordable & extremely versatile - and celebrating this [and their launch in Boots stores & website] I'm here today in collaboration with Boots to share how I use NYX products in my varying beauty routines... from a simple day-to-day look, to a full on out-out makeup look.

The NYX base products I wear during the day can easily be built upon & drama-ed up when transforming my face into something more suitable for a night out. Let's get cracking & I'll show ya. Just look at that NYX Palette πππ
The Products
To create the looks you'll see in today's post, I was lucky enough to be able to pick out a few staple pieces from the NYX collection - ones I've legit turned to daily since their arrival in my life. So before we go onto looking at how I use these lil beauties in different looks, let's take a quick look at the magic behind them; the goods.
Oh my daysssss I love this stuff. I'd heard really great things about this primer already; which I can now totally verify are correct. These great reviews - and the beautiful bottle - definitely drew me towards picking this product for this post. And I'm so glad I did.
I try to use primer everyday below my makeup base, as it helps keep my foundation etc in place for longer - but whereby I might skip primer when I'm in a rush for a daytime meeting, I'd never dream of going out-out or creating a bigggg makeup look without it.
It legit makes the world of difference to your base & its longevity.
It has a little spatula applicator, which you can use to spread the product onto the skin; or apply onto a sponge or brush. Whichever you prefer - there's no set way to use NYX products, they're versatile & multi-purpose so you can use them in the way that works best for you.
It smells really zesty & fresh, and is full of teensy golden flecks to illuminate your base. Consistency wise, it's a little like honey when you first see it outside of the bottle; but it melts into the skin like water as you apply it - leaving the surface of ya face coated in goodness and incredibly smooth. The perfect base to build your look on. Or, the perfect product to wear on its own for a really natural, glowy look.

As a general rule, I prefer to use eyebrow pencils than gels or pomades when it comes to mastering brows on fleek; as I think they create a more natural finish - but with more definition than a powder. This brow pencil is the perfect example of this - its nib is so delicate and precise, it creates the most subtle, natural looking hair strokes as you use it. Micro Brow indeed.
I love how slimline, lightweight and precise this product is - and the fact it's a brow pencil and spoolie brush in one; making it a travel friendly dream.

I've tried to demonstrate just how precise the pencil is with the stroke swatches above - the Ash Brown shade of this product is a great match with my brows too, which I can sometimes struggle matching; as they're a awkward tone.
This brow pencil is very easy to use and a great shout for beginners.

EEK can we just take a minute to appreciate this little beauty pls?! The perfect blend of matte, satin & shimmer eyeshadows - and a great, dinky size [perfect to take on ya travels with you] I just knew I had to have this palette as soon as I clapped eyes on it.
I love that - as well as that incred range of warm & bright shades - this palette also has softer neutral shades, corals and pretty shimmers. The looks achievable with this high quality, proper pigmented 16 shade palette are almost too much to cope with. Those yellows have my heart; I'm a huge fan of yellow eyeshadow looks... Kylie Jenner being the main instigator of the love for this trend in my life.

The inclusion of a matte black shade in the bottom row is just yet another reason why I rate this product so highly. Whereas I can wear a neutral shimmer from this palette during the daytime for a put-together-yet-low-key look, the inclusion of this darker shade means I can really smoke out my eyeshadow and [attempt to] smoulder during the evenings.
I feel like the colours included in this 16 option babe have been really well thought out in terms of how you can use them together to complement each other - and for me, it's brought a lot of my favourite shades together into one streamlined product; whereas before I'd have to jump from palette-to-palette to find them.

This is a great mascara you know huns. It really does lift the lashes - and its formula isn't too dry or dead wet & smudgy.
Its tapered brush means it's great at getting into the corners of the eyes & also picking up the smaller lashes under them; grabbing them, coating them with product & leaving them beautifully defined and definitely not with that dreaded spiders leg look that some mascaras do.

I have this product in Black, and I really do love how dark & dramatic it leaves my lashes. Regardless of whether it's day or night, I always go big with my lashes, & I'm really impressed with this mascara and the looks it's helped me create so far. Even on my feeble natural lashes.
As an oily-skinned kinda gal, I heavily rely on setting & pressed powders to keep me not resembling a walking oil-slick. I really like this powder - it's soft, very finely milled & perfect for baking; which is what I picked it out for.
It was a tough call between Light & Banana, but I went for shade 01 Light in the end, as I like the more dramatic effects lighter shades allow me to achieve when contouring.

Now onto the LOOKS. So, the challenge was to take my face from desk to dancefloor; using these fab NYX Professional Makeup goodies to create a basic daytime look that can be boosted for a night out. A challenge I was more than happy to accept.
I started off creating my basic, base look - using the Honey Dew Me Up Primer [obv], the Can't Stop Won't Stop powder to set my foundation & concealer, the Micro Brow Pencil to add some order to my horrifically mismatched brows & a coat of the Worth The Hype Mascara to open up my eyes.
I used a very neutral, natural shade on my eyes from the Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette; dabbing a little of the gold shimmer on the centre for a very subtle halo eye sorta thang. Here's my daytime face. What do you think?

Now, to boost this look. My favourite bit. I'd literally already created my NYX base during step one - so the next step was, inevitably, getting to play with that incredible eyeshadow palette & give my eyes the kinda sass they deserve for a night on the town. I also added a statement lip - another NYX product; their Soft Matte Lip Cream in Budapest.
I used a mix of the warm, red tones to build colour on my eye; working the more burgundy tones & a lil of that matte black to smoke the look out. And blended it up towards my brow bone using the yellow I love so much. And then blended more overall which worked the darker, smokier tones into the look more. What do you think of my boost?

I love NYX & I love playing with makeup, so this challenge has been up there with some of my all-time faves. Hope you guys liked it too - have you tried any of the products I've featured?
