Well, would you look at that? The whole year has friggin' just flown by, and we're already now facing the bleak, total and utter sh*teness that is Autumn / Winter. Though most bloggers' wet dream, this time of year is not for me. I'm not about Pumpkin Spiced Lattes, jumpers and boots. You can read more about my fiery hatred for the colder months of the year here.
One thing that becomes even harder during the cold, miserable months until Spring resurfaces again, is maintaining a decent level of tan. Obv unless my fortunes dramatically change & I become this thing I've heard about online called 'rich'?? [cannot relate] I won't be booking any winter sun vacays - and spray tans involve me getting me tragic body out in front of other humans, so I was buzzin' me tits off to get these new Norvell professional tanning products sent to me recently.
I'm a self confessed tanning obsesso, but I'd never actually tried this brand before. I'm ashamed to admit that, like. Though I'd totes heard of it, if this fact redeems me in any way; with it being the brand that tans the entirety of the Strictly cast. Paul the Postman [who's retiring this week, I was horrified to learn!] dropped off a bottle of the Norvell Professional Venetian Sunless Mist*, Norvell Professional Venetian Sunless Colour Extender* and a lil Norvell Professional Venetian Tan 4 Faces*... which I've been testing away over the last few weeks, to bring you my honest verdict.
For me, the standout product from this bundle is defo the lil Tan 4 Faces. I know a lot of people don't like to fake tan their faces in fear of encouraging the mother of all breakouts... but I'm one of those top tits who goes for gold whilst yelling YOLO. Which, when using regular fake tan meant for ya bod, leads to weird dark patches and it clinging to spots or other facial crevices... that I just can't hide with concealer. Gr8.
This spray is actually meant for facial tanning though... and it comes out so fine that there's defo no weird patches, clinging, staining or questionable colour left in it's path after use. I normally spritz it on and then gently massage it into my face with a tanning mitt, to make sure I haven't missed a spot.

Its formula boasts a clever lil thang called VIO-7... which, in non-robotic sounding terms, is a unique blend of anti-orange bronzer pigments; designed to counter unwanted orange undertones for a natural-looking tan. So no David Dickinson scenarios over here, hun!
I also really enjoyed the Colour Extender Lotion from this trio of tanning kweens. It acts like a gradual tanner; and it's super natural looking. And even. And darker than you'd expect from a gradual lotion. And fast developing. All the praise, basically. It is exactly what it says on the tin; ideal to pop on between #FakeTanThursdays to keep your glow game strong. I never really like using fake tan lotions, but this one pleasantly surprised me.
Finally, we move onto the Tanning Mist. Which, for me, was a lil bit hit & miss. It's easy enough to apply - my top tip for using this product is similar to how I described I use the Tan 4 Faces; spray it on as evenly as you can, and use a tanning mitt to then rub it into your skin. I've had several disasters with fake tan sprays / mists in the past where I've missed a spot & ruined my day, so I'm keen to make sure this never happens to others! It develops quickly and gives a great colour... but my one bug bear with it was that after a couple of days, it started to go a bit orangey and patchy in places. Particularly around my ankles and feet.
The initial result is great - and this result may be because I'm crap at exfoliating / my skin is peeling off cos I'm an ancient relic of a bird, so don't let it put you off if you're keen to try it. But in the interests of being honest AF, I wanted to share that experience with you guys xox Overall, it's been a very positive experience with this new brand; with items I'd repurchase. So that's still totes a win in my eyes!
Have you tried anything from Norvell before? I'd highly recommend checking them out, if you're a tanning pro / obsesso. After all, if it's good enough for the pyar celebs on Strictly, it's good enough for me!
