On Valentine's Day 2017 I had a McDonald's. Highlight of the entire day, if not the entire week. But - lack of romance aside - the day worked out very okay, as Skinny Tan HQ had my back and sent me a gorgeous Valentine's gift; reminding me to love myself and also, reminding me how much I bloody love being tanned.

The whole parcel was super cute and almost looked too good to open up - but I'm so glad I tore that ribbon off and dived inside, as I haven't look so naturally tanned for a long time. Or felt as body confident. Or ever worn a fake tan that lasts in such a consistent way before. What a difference a splash of good fake tan makes, hey?!
The 7 Day Tanner is awesome, I can officially announce. It gives you a glowing tan which makes you look [and feel, a bit] like those super tanned bikini models you see on Insta; naturally bronzed from all those photoshoots in Cape Town and The Maldives [not bitter at all. HONEST.] Its coconut fragrance is lovely, too.
Although this is a dark shade of tan [and looks super bronze from the get go, too - none of this gradual business] the colour isn't dead orange or fake looking. The light, easily spreadable formula absorbs nicely; leaving your skin feeling hydrated - it feels more like a moisturiser than a fake tan. It's easy to apply with a mitt and even looks natural on my hands [but just like I've come back from a 2 week vacay in Turkey level of natural.]
A little goes a long way with the 7 Day Tanner, and it's much easier to work with just a small amount in terms of evenly distributing it across your skin. The first time I applied this fake tan I was a little worried, as there were marks and streaks on my skin after application. However, once I had a shower the following morning, all of this just washed right away - it turns out these marks were just excess bronzer which had gathered on my skin, where I'd applied too much in my excitement.
As long as you've applied an even, all over base [which is easy, as the formula glides on like a cream] it doesn't matter what the top coat looks like. Once you have a shower, your new, beautiful, even and healthy looking tan is revealed and you feel instantly a million times better about your body. Or maybe that's just me!
But in all seriousness this product is amazing and not at all patchy. It doesn't cling to dry skin, it develops rapidly [yet looks natural] and as it seems to deeply nourish your skin, your new bronzed skin tone lasts and lasts and lasts. Not like other tanning products which dry your skin out and then wash away in the shower.
The After Glow Gloss from Skinny Tan is equally as dreamy - in terms of packaging, formula and results. Although I have no doubt that my 7 Day Tan would have lasted the full week regardless, popping this on of an evening helped really complete the whole experience. It made my skin feel lovely and helped maintain that healthy, even looking glow.
I always feel better about myself with a tan; and sitting down to moisturise, re-hydrate and soften my skin each evening with the After Glow Gloss allowed me to take some precious self care time; which I deprive myself of wayyy too much. Which I guess was the whole point of this fab surprise gift from Skinny Tan - to remind myself to love myself; not just on Valentine's Day, but all year round too. And that's just too nice. But that's Skinny Tan for ya - a truly lovely brand through and through; with legit amazing products which are also vegan and cruelty free. So animals and humans alike benefit from the love.
