Are Your Clothes Doing You Harm?

When you're planning your outfit for the day, there are probably a lot of things that you think about. Matching styles, finding a comfortable fit, making sure that it's appropriate for the occasion. However, one of the things that people almost never think about is the impact that your clothes can have on your body. You might think that this isn't really something you'd have to worry about but the truth is that your clothes can have a surprisingly large impact on your body whether you realise it or not. With that in mind, here are just some of the ways that your clothes might be doing you some harm.

Heels
They might be a girl's best friend but those adorable heels could well be doing your feet a serious amount of damage. Sure, wearing them from time to time isn't going to be an issue but wearing heels often and for extended periods of time can cause serious damage to your feet and ankles. There are exercises that you can do in order to stretch out your muscles and tendons but the best thing you can do is just to switch to flats more often. Sure, you might love the way they look, but your health is hardly a fair price to pay for that.

Sunglasses

When most people consider the kinds of sunglasses that they really want, the way they look is pretty much always going to be the main factor. That's often followed by cost and how comfortable they are. However, one thing that you need to remember is that sunglasses are meant to provide your eyes with protection from the sun. A lot of people end up buying counterfeit sunglasses in order to get the style they want at a lower price, but that comes at the cost of the levels of protection they provide. There's nothing wrong with choosing sunglasses based on how they look, but you simply can't ignore the need for them to be practical as well.

Skinny jeans

Skinny jeans are perhaps one of the most consistent staples of many people's wardrobes and there's a good reason for that. They look great and they're versatile enough to go with a whole variety of different looks and styles. However, there's a dark side to these fashion favorites. Jeans this tight can put a lot of pressure on your legs causing swelling, varicose veins, and even nerve damage. As fantastic as they are, it might be time to switch things up and stop wearing skinny jeans all day every day.

Of course, this isn't to say that you should suddenly take all of these clothes and throw them in the trash. The truth is that plenty of these clothes are great to wear, just don't try and rely on them all of the time. Making sure that you're spending a lot of your time in clothes that are breathable and comfortable and keep you well protected from the elements is essential and sets you up perfectly to enjoy wearing your favourite outfits no matter what they might be.
