As a treat to myself for not dying during my operation in August, I decided to add more to my crippling amounts of debt that I'll never be able to pay off and order the Juvia's Place The Saharan Palette off Beauty Bay. For £30. This is possibly the most expensive purchase I've made on a whim in my entire adult life, but as I was smacked off my tits on painkillers in my hospital bed at the time, I just went ahead and did it anyway. Yolo and all that.
Anyway, it's a proper, PROPER little babe [it'd better bloody be for that price!] and one of the best quality, creamiest & pigmented palettes I've ever had the pleasure of swatching and / or owning. So I'm gonna whack it in this blog post right here as part of my Palette Porn series; so you guys can witness the fitness. Oh and also, I've literally just had another operation and am once again in my hozzy bed high on painkillers; so there is potential that some more irresponsible purchasing may be made. So hit me up with your suggestions - I'm thinking maybe the Coloured Raine Queen of Hearts Eyeshadow Palette or the ABH Prism Palette? Or of course, the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette; which you can pick up from Cherry Berry Cosmetics with 20% off using code Nikki20 [and which tempts my SOUL.]
The Saharan packs 12 ultra erotic shades into one brightly designed palette; the perfect blend of mattes and metallics. Just perfection all round, really. The four mattes are the shades Chad, Jamila, Katsina and Sokoto - and the rest of the palette is just a shimmery heaven of triumph.
Going from the top left across (from L-R) we have:
Row One - Sokoto, Wodaabe, Bororo and Kia
Row Two - Zoya, Iman, Jamaica and Senegal
Row Three - Chad, Katsina, Lulu and Fula
Senegal and Wodaabe stood out to me instantly; both such warm, pigmented metallic shades. Both boast a creamy consistency - which make them feel almost like a gel, despite them totes being a powder? Iman makes the perf highlighter for use in the inner eye as it has a metallic shimmery finish to it. I've used Bororo and Jamaica when playing makeups too and been really impressed with how long they've lasted on me generally oily-ass face. And pretty shades such as Zoya and Fulu can be used for softer, girly looks.
I don't own many palettes cos yeno, I'm poor AF. But I do have to say; out of the ones I do - I haven't ever come across one quite like The Saharan before. I'm pure blown away by its quality & the utter vibrance of each and every pan within its bright casing. And given that, I'd say it's actually worth every penny of the £30 I paid for it - there's not a single let down shade. So NatWest can firmly sh*t off with their judgemental views on my expenditure!
Despite the £30 price tag [which most of you wouldn't think twice about, but with me being a raging tramp I have to!] I would deem this palette 10/10; 100% worth it. The colours are SO intense and unlike any others I've seen before. I'm so SO impressed; I can't wait to get my mitts on some of the others in the collection. Hmm, maybe that's where I'll head now... *reopens Beauty Bay tab*

Have you ever tried this palette, or anything else from the Juvia's Place collection? If you were to recommend me one palette to purchase, what would it be and why?
