Advent Calendars - yeno, the ones that aren't filled with chocolate, have had a lot of air-time this year; namely because of that Zoella one. There's more chance of pigs flying, maintaining a career in corporate sales and paying off their mortgage than me ever spending £50 on one. Even the £25 that Boots have reduced it to now seems a bit steep for 12 doors of tat.
Therefore, I've got a Beauty Advent Calendar to show you guys today which isn't a raging rip off - and has actually been reduced down to just £12 in Superdrug. And actually contains stuff you'll use. And covers the full 24 days of Christmas; not this half-arsed 12 days sh*te. Of course, it's one from my long-time baes Technic Cosmetics - and this is their Love Your Selfie Beauty Advent Calendar*; £12 in Superdrug.
Now, if you wanna get your mitts on one of these calendars without any spoilers, I suggest you stop reading. And also, avoid the 'description' text on that Superdrug link I dropped you above. I've [in the purposes of research & fair reviews, obv] already opened all 25 doors on my Love Your Selfie Cosmetic Advent Calendar - and although I haven't featured every item you'll discover in it, I am about to show you some of the highlights of the calendar below. You have been warned.
Being totally honest, as with most beauty advent calendars, you do have to expect the odd nail file, toe separator, bobble and mini brushes behind some of the doors. Which don't get me wrong, are all useful bits; but perhaps not as exciting as some of the other contents inside.
The positives definitely outweigh the negatives with this fab calendar tho gang - there's plenty of fab products I'll get tonnes of use out of hidden inside it; and opening each door, regardless of what was behind is, was a fun, enjoyable & super cute experience. All the products inside are themed - either in terms of colour, the look you can put together with them or other items which complement them.. and I honestly just can't fault Technic - their affordable and cruelty free alternatives continue to improve with age; like a fine wine / cheese. Here's a few of my stand-out product picks - these alone definitely being worth the £12 that the entire 25 items cost.
... all combining to make one AMAZING value Beauty Advent Calendar, amiright?
Technic stock this - and a few other variants of their Advent Calendar collection, in Superdrug and online - I highly recommend checking them out, if you're after a last minute bargain to enjoy the countdown to Christmas with [as I know we're on like, the 3rd December by now!!]
I've already pinned a few looks I wanna try with the eyeshadow palettes, plan to totes glitterfy my nails with the polishes & have been wearing the pink lipglosses for a dewy, natural lip look - so everything in it will defo come in handy in my LLL life! And yours too, no doubt!
What advent calendars do you guys have this year?
