I'm not a pure mua. Granted, I do okay in making my face look presentable, but I wouldn't say I'm great at it. Therefore to kick off my run up to Halloween posts special, I'll spare you the obligatory awkward selfies [until tomorrow] [with half of Smiffys smeared across my face and obligatory cat ears, obv] and today, I'll show you some cute little seasonal beauty & fashion accessories I've picked up instead. Hopefully these picks will inspire you with your final costume decision [and save you a ton of £.]

Creepy doesn't always have to be crappy OR tacky guys - in fact, you don't have to dress up as anything particularly scary at all if you don't want to - there's no wrong way to do Halloween. You don't have to drizzle a litre of fake blood across your body if you don't want to; if you want to be a mouse [duhh] a la Mean Girls, go 'ed. Just do you, boo. The below picks are definitely on the prettier side of scary - there'll be no nightmares here, folks.

Here's a few accessories anyway which I've picked up this Halloween, which will definitely help me formulate a costume plan of my own [if I ever leave the house and be social with other humans, like.] Expect to see some of these crop back up in the makeup posts I have planned for the week.

TopShop Chrome matte nail polish. Might not be an obvious choice for Halloween, but if you'd rather avoid rocking black nails this season, it's a great alternative. This particular shade is pretty grungey [making it ideal for Halloween] but also very on point. Its metallic, space-age, shimmering appeal also means it would work really well as part of a robot / alien / mermaid type costume.

How pretty are these gold, New Look gold cat ears?! I actually won these on Twitter - but I'm pretty sure you can still pick these up in stores now. These little ears are proper like, all the goals - for wear throughout the year and not just Halloween. These would be nice to wear if you dress up as a lion or a tiger; as the gold of the headband will look well with gold glitter.

These black cat ears cost me about a quid [if that] off eBay this time last year. They're pretty simple, not massively too small on my MASSIVE CRANIUM and can be worn for a number of cat-inspired costumes. Absolute statement in the old fancy dress wardrobe, these.

There's nothing really scary about this floral cat ears headband at all, it's just super pretty and I couldn't not have it / feature it here. Although it's probably more suitable for Summer and Festival season, these little ears have definite pretty, girly potential for some kind of dress up. I picked these up from Forever21 for about £2.49 recently.

These nails, believe it or not, were just £1 for a set of 24 from Primark. I really love them - it's the first time I've ever worn pointed talons, but I can now TOTES see the attraction. You guys seemed to love them too over on Instagram - so when news gets around that they're only £1, I predict mass hysteria. The glue you get with these is pretty good too - I really can't fault them; especially for the price.

This might not be pretty, but it's necessary come Halloween! I picked up this fake blood spray from B&M Bargains for £1. Job done. In the past, I've used Smiffys blood sprays - which were good, but this was a fraction of the cost and is therefore classed as winning in my book.

When it comes to fancy dress, the more dramatic the lashes, the better - and LashUnlimited won't let you down. I go all out at Halloween - strip lashes on my upper and lower lashlines, and these guys have some amazing styles to complete your look. With multi-buy offers available on all styles and super low price tags. FAV STORE EVER.

Well, this is a bit sexy, isn't it! It's black lace, sultry and mysterious - and I got it off Depop for like, £2.50. I thought this was perfect for a Halloween costume or creepy Masquerade Ball. I'm pretty sure this is a cat mask - but you could wear it and claim it was any other animal really [within reason] such as a sexy fox or badger or something. Similarly [and still very much on the bargain wagon] Asda do multi-packs of lace masquerade masks for a quid. Thank me later [with cash, bourbon biscuits & makeup, plz.]
