I've wanted hair extensions for a while now, yeno.
I'm not talking about the VILE strip of black ones I used to clip in under my layers when I was like, 18 & beyond all comprehendible levels of tragic. And emo.
When I was having a curly blow at the hairdressers a while ago, she pulled out this pack of pure golden blonde extensions she'd bought as we were chatting. They were the PERFECT colour-match for my locks & I died a little bit at the potential my bedraggled bird's nest of hair could have with a lil silky stenny help. She died a bit too. And then she died even more as she realised that there was more chance of pigs flying, going to Harvard and getting on the property ladder than there was of me ever being able to afford to buy these ones she was hard-selling for about £31231.
From that moment on my eyes were opened & my head was turned by the world of hair extensions. And now, thanks to Hairtrade, I've finally got me mitts on some of my very own. Which are even better than I'd imagined; in so many ways.
My hair is pretty damn long. It also sheds and gets everywhere - & proper makes me LOL as I see it attach itself to people, pets and things that it shouldn't. The lads in the petrol station are always plastered in it when I take my eBay parcels there to drop off. And there's pure blonde tumbleweeds I regularly see wafting round the office on a draughty day.
My reason for wanting stennys is not / has never been to make me tresses look longer - I want extensions to get that extra volume, thickness and weight to my locks. My hair is long and there's a lot of it, but it's very fine. This means that it doesn't always hold a curl, and there isn't always enough of it to slay the hairstyles YouTube tutorials make look so easy to pull off. And these things make me sad.
The I&K Hair Extensions I chose from Hairtrade.com [in shade P18/22*] blend so perfectly with my hair colour you legit can't tell the difference of which are my locks and which are from the box. They're a full set of 18", human hair clip in stennys [I only really need to clip in 3-4 at a time to achieve my desired results] which are so easy to use, comfy to wear and natural looking.
I think it's also important to add in here how easy I found it to look at the Hairtrade website and accurately pick out the colour that would match my locks; which is testament to the accuracy of their product photography. For a total novice / newbie to the hair extension scene, this made things 100% easier & less stressful.
As these fab extensions are 100% human hair and not some cheapo synthetic [like the black, emo AF ones were] they're beautifully soft and can be styled in the same way as you do your own locks.
They're stunningly luxurious and feel silky AF to the touch. Probs better than my own, bleached 'n' battered natural hair does, tbf. Their human texture means they aren't at all distinguishable from your own natural hair too - tell me you can tell me the difference in the pics in this post. You can't, right?
I love my new I&Q Hair Extensions so much yeno huns. I LOVE the thickness, fullness and swishiness they add to my existing hair - they're the perfect lil confidence boost and as they're easy enough to do at home [and remove as & when you want] they save you a small fortune vs getting them done at a salon. And you's all know by now that I'm a big fan of saving coin where I can. 10/10 would recommend and / or bang.
Have you tried hair extensions before? What do you think of mine?
Definitely check out Hairtrade if you're in the market for some sassy new locks pre-Christmas / New Year party time 🙋 I'm so impressed with the quality of mine and how easy the site was to use!
*This post contain PR samples, but all opinions and awkward AF selfies very much belong to me xox
